Pre-employment Medical Test

 

Pre-employment Medical Assessments (or PEM) is a workforce risk management tool and forms a part of the recruitment process for a variety of professional jobs.

During a comprehensive health assessment the following areas are assessed as per an employer’s request.

  • Medical History – questionnaire covering past medical history, medical conditions, injuries, vaccinations, disabilities, fitness and health habits.
  • Medical Examination – assessment of the candidate’s blood pressure, body-mass index (BMI), cardiovascular and respiratory health.
  • Vision test
  • Hearing test
  • Drug and alcohol screenings – This involves measuring alcohol concentration in blood and checking for illicit or prescribed drug use.
  • Urinalysis for diabetes or kidney/bladder disorders
  • Functional assessments such as grip strength
  • Immunisations
